Adopted in 1972, the Act respecting legal aid and the provision of certain other legal services is the result of a long process aimed at offering legal services to economically disadvantaged people.
Even before the adoption of the law in 1972, there were a few community legal aid clinics in the Eastern Townships. The CCJE was founded shortly after the adoption of the law.
We are part of a legal aid network that includes the Commission des services juridiques and 10 other community legal aid centres located in all regions of Quebec. This legal aid network comprises the largest law firm in Quebec.
For more than 45 years, the CCJE team has been recognized for its professionalism and its vast experience with clients who are admissible to legal aid in the Eastern Townships. Our services are provided by individuals whose dedication to quality service is the prevailing characteristic.
Our mission is to ensure access to justice to those people who are financially admissible and reside in the Eastern Townships, by providing services to exercise their rights free of charge or with a financial contribution, to the extent required by the Act respecting legal aid and the provision of certain other legal services
We strive to be recognized by the community as an experienced, dynamic, passionate and innovative team that provides outstanding legal services.
